Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp flour
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup milk
- 1 packet (1 oz.) ranch dip seasoning mix
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
- Heat butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once melted, add the chicken and cook until golden brown and cooked through, about 6-7 minutes per side. Remove chicken from skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add flour and cook for about 1 minute, stirring constantly.
- Gradually add chicken broth and milk, stirring until the sauce thickens.
- Stir in ranch seasoning, onion powder, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning.
- Add sour cream and stir until fully incorporated.
- Return the chicken to the skillet and coat it with the sauce. Let it simmer for a few minutes to reheat the chicken and blend the flavors.
- Serve the chicken over mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles, and spoon extra sauce on top.
Notes
- Substitute sour cream with heavy cream for a richer sauce.
- For a lighter option, use half the packet of ranch seasoning for a lower-sodium version.
