Description

Creamy Ranch Chicken is a delicious and easy-to-make skillet dish that features tender chicken breasts in a rich, creamy ranch sauce. With simple ingredients and bold flavors, this recipe is perfect for busy weeknights. Serve it over mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles for a satisfying family meal.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 packet (1 oz.) ranch dip seasoning mix
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  • Heat butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once melted, add the chicken and cook until golden brown and cooked through, about 6-7 minutes per side. Remove chicken from skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add flour and cook for about 1 minute, stirring constantly.
  • Gradually add chicken broth and milk, stirring until the sauce thickens.
  • Stir in ranch seasoning, onion powder, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning.
  • Add sour cream and stir until fully incorporated.
  • Return the chicken to the skillet and coat it with the sauce. Let it simmer for a few minutes to reheat the chicken and blend the flavors.
  • Serve the chicken over mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles, and spoon extra sauce on top.

Notes

  • Substitute sour cream with heavy cream for a richer sauce.
  • For a lighter option, use half the packet of ranch seasoning for a lower-sodium version.
