Description

Cream Cheese Squares are an easy and delicious dessert made with cream cheese, crescent roll dough, and a touch of cinnamon sugar. These squares feature a buttery, flaky crust paired with a smooth, creamy filling. Perfect for potlucks, gatherings, or just a sweet treat, they are simple to make and sure to impress with their rich flavor and texture.

Ingredients

  • 2 cans (8 oz each) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 2 packages (8 oz each) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar, divided
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan with cooking spray.
  • Unroll one can of crescent roll dough and press it into the bottom of the prepared pan, sealing any perforations to form a solid crust.
  • In a medium bowl, mix together the softened cream cheese, vanilla extract, beaten egg, and 1/2 cup of granulated sugar until smooth and creamy. Spread this mixture evenly over the crescent roll crust.
  • Unroll the second can of crescent roll dough and place it over the cream cheese layer, again sealing any perforations.
  • Pour the melted butter evenly over the top layer of dough.
  • In a small bowl, combine the remaining 1/4 cup of granulated sugar with the ground cinnamon. Sprinkle this cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the top.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the filling is set.
  • Allow to cool completely before cutting into 24 squares.

Notes

  • For a twist, add fresh fruit or nuts to the filling before baking.
  • Feel free to use gluten-free crescent dough for a gluten-free version.
  • Store leftover squares in the fridge for up to 3 days.
