Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Set oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
- Season the Chicken: Sprinkle chicken breasts with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Italian seasoning.
- Sear the Chicken: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sear chicken for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
- Prepare the Sauce: In the same skillet, whisk together chicken broth and softened cream cheese until smooth. Stir in Parmesan cheese and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes. Adjust seasoning if needed.
- Bake: Place seared chicken in the baking dish and pour the creamy sauce over it. Bake for 25-30 minutes until chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
- Garnish & Serve: Let the dish rest for 5 minutes, then garnish with chopped parsley. Serve with rice, mashed potatoes, or roasted vegetables.
Notes
- Storage: Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
- Reheating: Warm in a skillet over low heat with a splash of chicken broth or microwave on medium for 1-2 minutes.
- Freezing: Not recommended, as the cream cheese sauce may separate.
- Make Ahead: Assemble up to the baking step, refrigerate for up to 24 hours, then bake when ready.
- Variations: Try using chicken thighs, adding spinach or mushrooms, or spicing it up with red pepper flakes.
