Ingredients
For the Cake:
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
For the Glaze (optional):
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1–2 tablespoons milk or cream
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch springform pan.
- Beat the Cream Cheese: In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Gradually add the sugar and continue to beat until fully combined.
- Add Eggs and Vanilla: Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared springform pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool: Let the cake cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before removing the sides of the pan.
- Make the Glaze (optional): In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar and milk or cream until smooth.
- Glaze the Cake (optional): Drizzle the glaze over the cooled cake.
