Ingredients

For the Cookies:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Make the Cookie Dough
    • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
    • Cream butter and powdered sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy.
    • Mix in vanilla extract. Gradually add flour, salt, and cinnamon, mixing until a soft dough forms.
    • Fold in chopped nuts if using.
  2. Shape the Cookies
    • Roll dough into 1-inch balls.
    • Arrange on prepared baking sheets, leaving 2 inches between cookies.
  3. Bake the Cookies
    • Bake for 12-14 minutes, until bottoms are lightly golden.
    • Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  4. Coat in Cinnamon Sugar
    • Combine granulated sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.
    • While cookies are warm, gently roll them in the cinnamon sugar mixture until coated.
