Description

This moist and tender Cinnamon Apple Bread is a quick bread recipe featuring fresh apples and a cinnamon-sugar swirl, topped with a caramelized crust and light cinnamon glaze. Perfect for fall, breakfast, or dessert, this easy-to-make apple cinnamon bread brings warm autumn flavors to your table.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped fresh apples
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar (for apple mixture)
  • 1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon (for apple mixture)
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar + 1/2 tsp cinnamon (for topping)
  • 1/2 cup confectioners’ sugar (for glaze)
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon (for glaze)
  • 12 tbsp milk (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pan: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8.5 x 4.5-inch loaf pan.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl.
  3. Cream Butter and Sugar: Beat butter, granulated sugar, and vanilla until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well.
  4. Combine Mixtures: Gradually mix dry ingredients into the butter mixture, alternating with milk. Avoid overmixing.
  5. Cinnamon-Apple Mix: Toss chopped apples with brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.
  6. Assemble: Spread half the batter into the pan. Layer half the apple mixture. Repeat layers, pressing apples gently into the batter.
  7. Add Topping: Sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon mixture over the top.
  8. Bake: Bake for 60-70 minutes, tenting with foil if browning too quickly. Test doneness with a toothpick.
  9. Cool and Glaze: Cool 15 minutes in the pan, then transfer to a wire rack. Drizzle with glaze made from confectioners’ sugar, cinnamon, and milk.

Notes

  • Use tart apples like Granny Smith or sweet ones like Honeycrisp for balanced flavor.
  • Substitute whole wheat flour or gluten-free flour for dietary adjustments.
