Instructions

  • Prepare Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Cream Butter and Sugar: In another bowl, beat softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Mix Wet and Dry Ingredients: Add egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture. Gradually mix in dry ingredients until combined.
  • Roll and Cut Dough: Roll dough to 1/4-inch thickness on a floured surface. Use cookie cutters to shape cookies.
  • Bake: Place cookies on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 8-10 minutes. Cool on a wire rack.
  • Decorate: Use royal icing to design Santa suits with red icing for the suit, white for trim, and black for the belt. Add candy eyes and sprinkles for detail.
