Description

Chocolate Bourbon Pecan Pie is a decadent Southern dessert that combines the rich flavors of chocolate, the warmth of bourbon, and the crunch of pecans in a gooey, buttery filling. This easy-to-make pie is perfect for holidays, special occasions, or whenever you’re craving a comforting treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 4 large eggs
  • ¼ cup bourbon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 6 ounces semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
  • Prepare Sugar Mixture: In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar, corn syrup, and butter. Stir until butter melts and sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and cool for 5 minutes.
  • Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, bourbon, vanilla extract, and salt.
  • Combine Mixtures: Gradually pour the cooled sugar mixture into the egg mixture, whisking constantly to prevent curdling.
  • Add Chocolate & Pecans: Stir in chocolate chips and chopped pecans.
  • Assemble the Pie: Place the unbaked pie crust into a 9-inch pie dish and pour in the filling evenly.
  • Bake: Bake for 50-55 minutes until the filling is set and the crust is golden brown. The center should be slightly firm.
  • Cool & Serve: Let the pie cool on a wire rack before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

  • Nut Substitutions: Try walnuts or a mix of nuts for a twist.
  • Chocolate Variations: Use dark chocolate for a richer taste or white chocolate for extra sweetness.
  • Alcohol-Free Option: Replace bourbon with extra vanilla extract.
  • Storage: Keep at room temperature for 2 days or refrigerate for up to 5 days.
  • Reheating: Warm in a 325°F oven for 10 minutes or microwave individual slices for 20-30 seconds.
