- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
For the Swiss Cheese Sauce:
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish or line with parchment paper.
- Prepare the Chicken: Pound chicken breasts to an even thickness. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
- Add Filling: Place a slice of ham and Swiss cheese on each chicken breast, roll tightly, and secure with toothpicks.
- Bread the Chicken: Coat chicken rolls in flour, dip in beaten eggs, and coat with breadcrumbs.
- Cook the Chicken: Sear rolls in a skillet with vegetable oil for 3-4 minutes per side, then transfer to the baking dish. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Prepare the Sauce: In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute. Gradually whisk in heavy cream, add shredded Swiss cheese and garlic powder, and stir until smooth. Season to taste.
- Serve: Remove toothpicks, plate the chicken, and drizzle with Swiss cheese sauce.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, use Panko breadcrumbs.
- Substitute Swiss cheese with provolone or cheddar for a new twist.
