Instructions
- Make the Dough
- Cream butter, oil, granulated sugar, and powdered sugar until fluffy.
- Mix in eggs (one at a time) and almond extract.
- Gradually add flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt.
- Chill the Dough
- Cover dough and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
- Bake the Cookies
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on lined baking sheets.
- Bake for 8–10 minutes, cool for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
- Prepare the Glaze
- Combine powdered sugar, maraschino cherry juice, and almond extract until smooth.
- Decorate
- Spread or drizzle glaze over cooled cookies. Garnish with cherries or almonds.
