Description

Cheesecake Stuffed Baked Apples combine the comforting flavors of cinnamon-spiced apples with the creamy richness of cheesecake, creating a show-stopping dessert perfect for fall, gatherings, or cozy evenings.

Ingredients

For the Apples:

  • 4 large apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp recommended)
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar

For the Cheesecake Filling:

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup crushed graham crackers

Instructions

  • Prepare the Apples:
    • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
    • Core the apples, keeping the bottom intact to hold the filling.
    • Mix lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and brown sugar; brush over apples inside and out.
  • Make the Cheesecake Filling:
    • Beat cream cheese, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, egg, and sour cream until smooth.
    • Stir in crushed graham crackers for added texture.
  • Stuff the Apples:
    • Spoon cheesecake filling generously into cored apples.
  • Bake the Apples:
    • Arrange stuffed apples in a baking dish. Optionally, add water to the dish for steaming.
    • Bake for 25-30 minutes until apples are tender but hold their shape.
  • Serve:
    • Cool slightly and top with caramel sauce or whipped cream, if desired.

Notes

  • Variations: Use Gala, Fuji, or Pink Lady apples for a sweeter twist. Add nuts, chocolate chips, or cranberries to the filling for extra flavor.
  • Toppings: Enhance with salted caramel, honey, or oats for crunch.
  • Dietary Adjustments: Substitute plant-based cream cheese for a dairy-free version.
