Topped with a luscious cream cheese frosting, these soft and fluffy rolls are perfect for breakfast or a decadent dessert.

Ingredients

For the Dough:

  • 2 packages active dry yeast
  • 2½ cups warm water (110°F/45°C)
  • 1 box yellow cake mix (15.25 ounces)
  • 4½ cups all-purpose flour (plus extra if needed)

For the Filling:

  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

For the Cream Cheese Frosting:

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 3½ cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Prepare the Dough:
    • Dissolve yeast in warm water and let it foam for 5 minutes.
    • Add cake mix and flour, mix into a soft dough. Knead for 5 minutes.
    • Let the dough rise in a greased bowl for 1 hour, covered, until doubled in size.
  • Assemble the Rolls:

    • Brush with melted butter, sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar mixture.
    • Roll into logs, slice into 1-inch pieces, and arrange in greased pans.

    • Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden.
  • Prepare Frosting:
    • Beat cream cheese until smooth; gradually mix in powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until creamy.
  • Frost and Serve:
    • Cool rolls for 5 minutes, then spread frosting over them. Serve warm.
