Description

This Cajun Ranch Shrimp and Sausage Pasta Skillet is a flavorful and comforting weeknight dinner. Bold Cajun seasoning pairs perfectly with juicy shrimp, smoky sausage, and a creamy sauce that coats the pasta. A one-skillet meal that’s easy to prepare and even easier to enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced
  • 12 oz penne or rigatoni pasta
  • 1 cup Cajun sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp Cajun seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sausage and cook until browned.
  • Stir in the bell pepper, onion, and garlic. Sauté for about 5 minutes, until the vegetables soften.
  • Add the shrimp, Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper. Cook until the shrimp turns pink, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Stir in the chicken broth, heavy cream, and uncooked pasta. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to simmer for 12-15 minutes, or until the pasta is al dente and the sauce thickens.
  • Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

  • If you prefer extra spice, add more Cajun seasoning or hot sauce.
  • Use any short pasta you have, such as fusilli or farfalle.
  • For a dairy-free version, substitute heavy cream with coconut milk or cashew cream.
