  • 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
  • 4 cups beef or vegetable broth
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup rice (optional)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 2 bay leaves

Instructions

  • Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  • Add onion and garlic, sautéing until softened.
  • Add ground meat and cook until browned. Drain excess fat if needed.
  • Stir in carrots, cabbage, and tomatoes.
  • Pour in broth and tomato sauce, then add Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, paprika, and bay leaves.
  • Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 30-40 minutes until cabbage is tender.
  • If using rice, add it in the last 15 minutes of cooking.
