Description

This delicious and hearty cabbage soup is perfect for a warm, nutritious meal. Packed with fresh vegetables and savory ground beef, it’s a comforting dish that’s easy to make and full of flavor. Enhance the taste with Lipton Onion Soup Mix, and enjoy a healthy, satisfying bowl of soup that’s perfect for any day.

Ingredients

  • 1 large cabbage
  • 2 small onions, diced
  • 2 cans of stewed tomatoes
  • 1 pouch Lipton Onion Soup Mix (any flavor)
  • 1 large celery, chopped very small
  • 12 pounds ground beef (or ground turkey for a leaner option)
  • Additional spices and herbs (optional)

Instructions

  • Fill a large saucepan halfway with water and bring it to a boil.
  • Once the water is boiling, add the cabbage, onions, and celery. Reduce the heat and let it simmer.
  • While the vegetables simmer, cook the ground beef in a separate pan. Drain any excess fat once it’s fully cooked.
  • Add the Lipton Onion Soup Mix to the simmering vegetables. Feel free to stir in any additional spices to enhance the flavor.
  • Once the beef is cooked, add it to the soup, and let everything simmer for 5-10 more minutes to meld the flavors together.
  • Taste the soup and adjust the seasoning if necessary.
  • Serve hot and enjoy the comforting, savory flavor!

Notes

  • For extra protein and fiber, add white beans or kidney beans.
  • Make it vegetarian by omitting the beef and adding extra veggies like carrots or bell peppers.
  • Add red pepper flakes or diced jalapeño for a spicy kick.
  • Customize with herbs like thyme, basil, or oregano for added depth of flavor.
  • You can also use shredded chicken instead of ground beef for a lighter protein option.
