Description

Indulge in these classic buttery pecan snowball cookies, a holiday favorite featuring rich, nutty flavors and a melt-in-your-mouth texture. Perfectly dusted with powdered sugar, these cookies are simple to make and irresistibly festive.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 cup finely chopped pecans
  • 1 cup powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a stand mixer, cream together butter and powdered sugar until smooth.
  3. Reduce mixer speed to low and add salt, vanilla extract, flour, and chopped pecans. Mix until combined.
  4. Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheets.
  5. Bake for 11 minutes or until the bottoms are lightly golden.
  6. While still warm, coat cookies in powdered sugar and transfer to cooling racks.
  7. Once completely cool, roll the cookies in powdered sugar again for a festive finish.

Notes

  • For best results, use finely chopped pecans to ensure the dough holds together.
  • Ensure the cookies are fully cool before the second powdered sugar coating to avoid clumping.
  • Chilling the dough can help prevent spreading.
