Description

This Easy Breakfast Cheese Danish is the perfect way to start your day. With a rich, creamy filling and a crisp, golden exterior made from crescent rolls, it’s both indulgent and simple to prepare. Topped with a sweet glaze, it’s a delicious breakfast treat that’s ideal for busy mornings or weekend brunch.

Ingredients

  • 2 cans ready-to-use refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 2 8-ounce packages cream cheese
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • 1 egg white

For the Glaze:

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 13×9-inch baking pan.
  2. Lay one pack of crescent rolls in the prepared pan, pinching the openings together to form a solid layer.
  3. In a medium bowl, beat together cream cheese, sugar, vanilla extract, and egg until smooth.
  4. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the crescent rolls in the pan.
  5. Lay the second pack of crescent rolls over the cream cheese mixture, then brush the top with egg white.
  6. Bake for 35-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
  7. Let the Danish cool for 20 minutes before adding the glaze.
  8. For the glaze, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Drizzle over the cooled Danish.
  9. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

  • To check if the Danish is done, ensure the top is golden brown and the filling is set. A toothpick inserted into the center should come out clean.
  • If you’re making it ahead of time, assemble the Danish and refrigerate overnight before baking.
  • You can freeze the assembled Danish before baking. Thaw overnight in the fridge and bake as directed.
