These Everything Pigs in a Blanket with Cream Cheese bring a Seattle-style twist to a classic appetizer. Packed with caramelized onions, cream cheese, and a sprinkle of everything bagel seasoning, they are brushed with honey dijon egg wash for extra flavor. Perfect for game days, parties, or anytime snacking!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup thinly sliced white onion
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp brown sugar
  • 1 can (8 ounces) crescent rolls
  • 6 ounces cream cheese
  • 24 mini sausages
  • 1 egg (beaten)
  • 1 tbsp dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp honey
  • Everything bagel seasoning

Instructions

  • Caramelize the Onions:
Heat olive oil in a small pan over medium-high heat. Add sliced onions, salt, garlic powder, and brown sugar. Sauté for 10–15 minutes, stirring often, until soft and browned.
  • Prepare the Dough:
Unroll crescent roll dough and cut each triangle into three smaller triangles, making 24 pieces.
  • Prep the Cream Cheese:
Cut cream cheese into 24 small portions.
  • Assemble:
Flatten a dough triangle slightly. Spread cream cheese, add a bit of caramelized onion, and place a mini sausage on the wide end of the triangle. Roll it up and seal.
  • Add Topping:
In a small bowl, whisk the egg, dijon mustard, and honey. Brush this mixture over each roll and sprinkle with everything bagel seasoning.
  • Bake:
Arrange on a baking sheet and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 11–14 minutes, until golden brown.

Notes

  • Pat the onions dry before using them to avoid soggy dough.
  • For added heat, include sliced jalapeños inside the rolls.
  • Serve warm with dipping sauces like honey mustard or sriracha.
