Description

Balsamic Glazed Brussels Sprouts are a flavorful side dish that combines the nuttiness of roasted Brussels sprouts with the sweet tang of a balsamic and honey glaze. Ready in just 30 minutes, this recipe is perfect for holidays or quick weeknight meals.

Ingredients

  • pounds Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
  • 3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • ¾ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon honey

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and position an oven rack in the middle.
  • Prepare Baking Sheet: Line a baking sheet with heavy-duty aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
  • Season Brussels Sprouts: Toss the halved Brussels sprouts with 2 tablespoons of olive oil, salt, and pepper on the prepared baking sheet. Ensure they are evenly coated.
  • Roast: Arrange the Brussels sprouts in a single layer and roast for about 20 minutes, stirring halfway through, until tender and golden brown.
  • Prepare Glaze: In a small bowl, mix the remaining tablespoon of olive oil with the balsamic vinegar and honey.
  • Glaze Sprouts: Drizzle the balsamic mixture over the roasted Brussels sprouts and toss to coat evenly.
  • Serve: Taste and adjust seasoning if needed, then serve warm.

Notes

  • For a vegan option, substitute honey with maple syrup or agave nectar.
  • Enhance the flavor by adding toasted nuts, such as pine nuts or pecans.
  • Avoid overcrowding the baking sheet to ensure proper roasting.
