Description
A flavorful baked Cajun salmon paired with a creamy, tangy avocado lime sauce, offering a perfect balance of spice and richness.
Ingredients
4 salmon fillets
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
Salt and pepper to taste
1 ripe avocado
1/4 cup Greek yogurt
2 tablespoons lime juice
1 tablespoon fresh cilantro, chopped
1 small clove garlic, minced
Water as needed for sauce consistency
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it. Place the salmon fillets on the sheet.
- Drizzle olive oil over the salmon fillets, then rub the Cajun seasoning, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper evenly over the fish.
- Bake the salmon for 12-15 minutes or until it flakes easily with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
- While the salmon is baking, prepare the creamy avocado lime sauce. In a blender or food processor, combine the avocado, Greek yogurt, lime juice, cilantro, and minced garlic. Blend until smooth. Add water, one tablespoon at a time, to reach your desired sauce consistency.
- Once the salmon is done, remove from the oven and plate it. Drizzle the creamy avocado lime sauce on top or serve it on the side.
Notes
If using frozen salmon fillets, thaw them properly before cooking.
To make the sauce spicier, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or extra Cajun seasoning.
The sauce can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator for up to a day.
The avocado lime sauce may thicken after refrigerating; add water to adjust the consistency before serving.
