Ingredients

  • 1 package chocolate cake, baked and crumbled
  • 1 package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 container whipped topping (Cool Whip), thawed
  • 2 cups chocolate pudding
  • 1 cup chocolate sauce or ganache
  • Chocolate truffles or balls, for garnish
  • Chocolate shavings, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, beat softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. Fold in half of the whipped topping to create a cheesecake layer.
  2. In a trifle dish or large glass bowl, layer crumbled chocolate cake at the bottom.
  3. Spread a layer of cream cheese mixture over the cake crumbles.
  4. Add a layer of chocolate pudding and drizzle with chocolate sauce or ganache.
  5. Repeat the layers (cake, cream cheese, pudding, chocolate sauce) until the dish is full, ending with a layer of whipped topping.
  6. Garnish with chocolate truffles or balls and chocolate shavings.
  7. Chill for at least 1 hour before serving to set the layers.
