Soft and spiced Apple Butter Cookies are infused with the cozy flavors of apple butter, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Perfect for autumn or year-round enjoyment, these cookies are easy to make and irresistibly delicious.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup apple butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, cream butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the egg, followed by apple butter and vanilla extract, until well combined.
  • In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  • Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  • Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until edges are set and tops look slightly puffed.
  • Let cookies cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
