Description

Crispy, crunchy, and perfectly seasoned, these air fryer fried pickles are a healthier twist on the classic appetizer—golden brown, flavorful, and made without deep frying.

Ingredients

1 jar dill pickle slices

1 cup breadcrumbs (panko or regular)

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs, beaten

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Drain the pickle slices and pat them dry with paper towels.
  3. In a shallow bowl, mix the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  4. In another bowl, beat the eggs.
  5. In a third bowl, place the breadcrumbs.
  6. Dip each pickle slice into the flour mixture, then the beaten eggs, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.
  7. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray and arrange pickles in a single layer.
  8. Spray the tops of the coated pickles with cooking spray.
  9. Air fry at 400°F for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden brown and crispy.
  10. Serve immediately with a dipping sauce of choice.

Notes

Best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days.

Reheat in the air fryer at 375°F for 3–4 minutes.

Avoid microwaving as it makes them soggy.

For variation, use crushed cornflakes or seasoned breadcrumbs.

Add cayenne pepper to the flour mix for a spicy kick.

Spicy dill pickles add extra tangy flavor.
