Description

Indulge in the perfect balance of creamy, tangy, sweet, and spicy flavors with this Goat Cheese Grilled Cheese with Honey and Spice. A quick, gourmet twist on a classic favorite, perfect for lunch or dinner.

Ingredients

  • 2 slices thick white bread
  • 2 oz goat cheese, crumbled
  • 2 oz white cheddar cheese, shredded (or mozzarella)
  • 2 tbsp liquid honey, divided
  • 3 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1/8 tsp red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

Instructions

  • Prepare Spiced Butter: Melt butter with red pepper flakes over medium-low heat for 5 minutes. Transfer to a small bowl.
  • Butter the Bread: Spread spiced butter on one side of each bread slice.
  • Assemble the Sandwich: Place one slice of bread, buttered side down, in a heated pan. Add goat cheese, cheddar, and 1 tbsp honey. Top with the other slice, buttered side up.
  • Cook: Cover and cook over medium heat until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes. Flip and cook the other side until golden and cheese is melted.
  • Serve: Drizzle with remaining honey and sprinkle extra red pepper flakes if desired. Slice and enjoy immediately.

Notes

  • Adjust red pepper flakes to control heat level.
  • Experiment with cheeses like gouda or brie for variations.
  • For added texture, include sliced fruits like apples or arugula in the sandwich.
